HOW A CHECK-IN WORKS:
Once a check-in has been scheduled, a reminder will be placed beneath the clock on the home screen. At the time of the scheduled check-in, a screen alert appears on the user’s phone indicating the upcoming Check-in (note: notifications will still be active if the app is closed). The user has 2 options: Check-in, or Delay.
If Delay is selected, a reminder alert will repeat after a short period.

If the user elects to check-in, they are taken to an action screen with 2 options: Check-in by phone, or by text. When the user chooses Check-in by phone, the phone auto-dials the check-in contact in the phone section of the contact list (see Managing Contacts below). If Check-in by text is selected, a message with the user’s location coordinates is sent to selected contacts.

TO SCHEDULE A CHECK-IN:
Press “Schedule a Check-in” from the home screen. Choose a date and time from the scroll wheel, then press save. For a recurring check-in, check one of the three check boxes in the recurring section: everyday, Monday through Friday, or custom. To set up your custom schedule, check the boxes that correspond with the days you would like to check-in.

JUST CHECKING IN:
Automatically sends a SMS/email message with location coordinates to active check-in contacts.

EMERGENCY BUTTON:
Press the Emergency button and a screen alert pops up to confirm emergency action, if confirmed the app sends an emergency message to all contacts in the Contacts directory with location coordinates.

CONTACTS:
Contacts are separated into 3 fields: phone, text, and email.

To add a contact- “Add New Contact” on one of the sections. Choose the number or information from your contact directory for that field.

To delete contacts- press the edit button to reveal edit icons. Press the edit icon corresponding to the contact you want to delete to reveal the delete button.

Selecting active users- select the check-in check box next to contact’s name. Users can only have one active phone contact at a time (users can select multiple contacts in the text and email sections). If no users in that section are selected, #1 slot is activated by default.

SETTINGS:
When the Auto dial 911 setting is switched on, 911 will be called if emergency button is activated.

USER INFO:
Enter a user name that will appear in messages sent through this application.

ADDITIONAL EMAIL CONTACT:
turns email notification on/off (email notification is still active when Emergency button is activated).

LOCATION INFORMATION:
Your location coordinates are only recorded at the time you initiate a message. aWareAbouts does not track or store your location information and most certainly wouldn’t share it if we did.
